CANON HISTORY: Character wiki, EP4 Summary, Series
◆ In EP3, Mammon makes an appearance with her sisters as Lucifer takes on a duel with Kanon. However, the deal was supposed to be that Kanon beats all seven sisters instead of just one, so they all jump at him after Lucifer is defeated. Shannon comes to help him fend them off. They end up dying anyway.
◆ Mammon and her sisters show deference to Ronove and Virgilia when they appear.
◆ EP4 is where the bulk of her history comes from!
◆ It starts off when Mammon is summoned by Maria to meet Ange along with the rest of the sisters. They were instructed to be Ange's friend because she's not a part of the witch alliance, Mariage Sorciere. However, when the seven sisters are transferred over to Ange, she couldn't handle the sheer amount of power it takes to keep them summoned, so they had to reduce the number of sisters. They decided that with rock papers scissors, which ended with Mammon's victory, so she gets to stay.
◆ When Mammon and ange return to the real world, Mammon learns about Ange's gloomy school life and tells her that she'll be there for her now to keep a smile on her face.
◆ The school life continues and Mammon sees other people bully Ange firsthand, but she tries her best to keep her happy anyway.
◆ They talk about what kind of magic Ange wants to use. When she says that she wants to bring back her dead family, Mammon says that she can't wait for the day she becomes a full fledged witch of ressurection because her value would go up if her master is also a great witch. She gives Ange her full support.
◆ Ange eventually has enough magical powers to summon all seven sisters, making the place even livelier with the hustle and bustle. However, it made Ange lose touch with the real world and she started failing her tests, in which the class bullies her because she's dragging the class down. They make her recite an apology letter they wrote in front of the class.
◆ Ange gets furious because she can't take this anymore and angrily orders the stakes to kill everyone in the classroom. However, most of the stakes fumble with their words on how they can't, leading to Ange's displeasure and breaks each one after they're done making excuses to her until Mammon is left. Mammon explains that they're only tools for murder, so if their mistress doesn't have the guts to use the tools to murder people, she can't carry out her order. Ange breaks Mammon too, by denying her existence and magic. Ange gets excommunicated from Mariage Sorciere by Maria because she even tries to deny Sakutarou, Maria's precious friend.
◆ Fast forward to present day, Ange brings back the seven sisters and Sakutarou (he was denied by Rosa way back) during her journey to apologize to Maria and to find out what happened when her family was killed in Rokkenjima. She says that she will never deny their existence again and they accept her.
◆ Ange arrives at Rokkenjima by boat, but is ambushed by Kasumi, her aunt from mother's side. Ange gets assaulted by the bodyguards, but when she's had enough of Kasumi tearing Maria's diary apart, she commands the seven sisters to kill every last one of them, including Kasumi and the Black Witch, Eva-Beatrice.
◆ Back in the meta world, Mammon finds Ange in the halls and asks her to come back to the game. They have a short conversation about how Mammon is officially Beatrice's furniture now so that she can't help Ange, but Ange says that it's fine.
◆ In EP5, she is caught and locked up with the rest of her sisters because Beatrice no longer controls the game board and they wanted to seal away anyone that had loyalty for her. She and her sisters end up coming back out when Battler gets the will to fight seriously, piercing Erika with the red truth.
◆ In the other episodes, she generally stands in the sidelines and watches things unfold with her sisters.

CANON PERSONALITY:
First and foremost, Mammon is Furniture. In this series, Furniture is defined as a being, usually a lesser demon of some sort, that serves under a witch. Mammon is the stake of greed that serves under Beatrice, who is also shared between members of the Mariage Sorciere. Furniture have the strong belief that they were created to be used for their master's benefit. If they were to be thrown away, they would serve no other purpose in their existence. With that being said, Mammon takes in great pride (as with her sisters) of her master, and she would take heed of every single command that is given. She is loyal because she understands that she is Furniture, a tool to be used by the witches. Nothing gives her a better feeling than to be used by her master because that was why furniture were created: to serve a purpose to their master. This is where her cruelty is generally accepted among beings around her, because her mistress, Beatrice, often uses Mammon and her sisters for morbid and cruel purposes, such as murder. This factors into Mammon's personality, thinking that it's okay to be cruel and that it's even fun to be morbid.

However, there are many things under the Furniture label that humanizes Mammon rather than her being a mindless tool. She loves teasing her sisters. Despite being the fifth sister out of the seven, Mammon does not let up on the teasing. She tends to be mischievous and play the occasional pranks as in she would not hesitate to draw on your face with a permanent sharpie marker if you fall asleep with a stupid face. She mostly does things like that to see the reaction because she is curious, after all. She even teases her oldest sister, Lucifer, with no restraints at all. Whenever Lucifer fails to do something, Mammon's teasing seems to be the worst, such as making fun of Lucifer for her failures and how she's the eldest but being the "weakest" out of the Seven Sisters, etc. Among the Seven Sisters, it is as if it is their unwritten law to mock the sister that fails her task. Mammon joins in on the jeering and makes fun of them to no end - or at least until their attention is averted to something much more important.

Mammon is quite a playful girl as well. She likes spooking people and tends to get ideas that would land her in the trickster role in your usual group of friends. She also appreciates jokes, depending on their... quality. In a world full of humans where she is invisible to them, she would go around and put two fingers up (bunny ears) behind their heads or hover above them and look straight into their face while upside down. She takes pleasure in doing those small things. It's pretty easy to get her into a good mood. If someone promises her that is something of value, her expression lights up immediately. However, it's just as easy to get on her bad side, making her snap at you or have her be passive-aggressive. Moreover, she'll remember it. If you start shit with her master, she'll give you the stink eye until the end time or when you redeem yourself--whichever comes first. Mammon is usually calm when there's nothing in particular going on, but it's easy to get her moods swinging.

Despite this, she's not the type of person that lets emotions burst all over the place. Mammon is aware that there is a time and place for such things. She knows when to be silly, angry, and yes, even comforting. She has her own ways of cheering people up, but you have to be on her real good side for her to even make an effort of doing so. For example, in the manga, her master, Ange, was down in the dumps because of her classmates' cruel treatments towards her. However, Mammon forced Ange to turn and face her, grabbed Ange's face, and shouted, "Since I'm now here with you, I won't allow you to make such a face anymore! I'll make sure you can spend your time smiling every day! And I always obtain what I want! Of course that includes my master's smile! Because I'm greedy!" She's usually not the type of person who would just sit down and mutter "I'm sorry about that" regardless whether she understands or not. Mammon is usually not the one to sit idly by and watch her master mope because as furniture, it is her duty to be of use to her master, extending her tasks from cheering up her master to be used as a weapon of murder.

With that said Mammon represents the sin of Greed. Both strengths and weaknesses can come out of this. First is that she is ambitious. Ambition is a strong desire to achieve something, and since it's a desire, it falls within greed. Once Mammon sets her goals, she tries her best to reach it with all her power. She doesn't have a problem with getting rid of any obstacles to the best of her abilities to get what she wants. If she had to get past a huge boar monster to rescue her master, that boar be damned, Mammon would surely work out a scheme to either defeat the boar or get past it. Mammon also has a great thirst for knowledge. She admits this herself by saying, "I like learning things that no one else knows. I like being able to do things that no one else can do. So I like studying and practicing because I want to keep intelligence that no one else knows about all to myself". Belphegor, one of her sisters, backs this up by saying "Mammon wants to keep that knowledge all to herself, so be warned that she refuses to let people read any book you give her, and sometimes burns them after reading them". She takes time to acquire knowledge and using them to her advantage because that's what greed is, to obtain many things for your own sake. However, her huge greed for knowledge can sometimes get her into trouble. Sometimes things are hidden so that it would be better not to know about it at all, so digging that up would cause negative consequences. She does keep her common senses in check, but sometimes it's too tempting. That is what a sin is, after all.

Other than that, Mammon has other traits that make her seem just like any other person. She fawns over cute things. There is a familiar in their alliance named Sakutaro and she jumps at the chance of a possibility of monopolizing him. Despite how Mammon represents the concept of greed, she doesn't mind sharing sometimes. Key word is sometimes. Apart from the obvious things since she can't monopolize oxygen of the entire planet, let alone try to keep it to herself, Mammon doesn't mind sharing as long as the situation turns out in her favor.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
◆ Magic sensitivity: She's able to see ghosts, magical creatures, and beings usually naked to the average human eye because she is also a fantasy being herself.
◆ Transformation: Can turn into a stake.
◆ Stake form: Can fly around at high speeds. She can bounce off walls and objects to attack from any direction and it is impossible to escape her unless the victim has strong magical resistance.
◆ Teleportation: Can be summoned/dismissed by appearing and disappearing. She's also pretty fast in combat in her human-like form to the point of teleportation.
Locus blade: Can summon a blade of light above her hand. Very sharp. Can use it to hack and slash stuff.
◆ Power of Greed: Her other sisters are implied to have a similar power according to their sin. If her "level of greed" is higher than her opponents', her abilities (speed and such) increase against them. On a downside, if her opponent is greedier than her, she suffers something like a stat penalty compared to her opponents' such as Mammon appearing to be much slower for them.
◆ Furniture status: Furniture in canon is defined as someone that isn't human and exceed human capabilities. Combined with her demon status, she has no need to eat/drink, go to the bathroom, or sleep. Though she can still partake in those activities, it's not functional to live.
◆ As a note for magical furniture status, if someone vehemently denies her existence within her hearing range, her whole body cracks and she will be out of commission for a long time. This is when furniture "breaks". In order to restore a furniture's broken status, their master/mistress needs to give their permission. Otherwise, they're screwed. Healing from severe wounds also work this way. Denying that magic exists also hurts her physically.
◆ She can appear invisible to normal people that don't have any magic sensitivity whatsoever.
◆ She can float! It's kinda like flying except not at such high speeds while in human form. She can go up pretty high.
◆ Red Truth: The Red Truth is a fact that can be presented by the Witch Side without any evidence or proof to support it. But, while undeniable, it can have multiple interpretations. If someone attempts to lie using the Red Truth, they will choke on the words that they're trying to say. The Red Truth isn't exclusive to the witches only, because it has been shown that Furniture used it as well, if only sparingly because that's more of their master's thing.

CHARACTER: AU SECTION
AU NAME: Manon Akamine
AU AGE: 24
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: Instead of red eyes, she'll have light brown eyes! Her hair is still light brown. Stands at a height of 5' 4".

AU HISTORY:
◆ Manon was born into a family where she was nearly the middle child out of many siblings somewhere in America. As she grew up, she wanted to stand out from her siblings instead of being bunched up with them because she wanted to be seen as her own person.
◆ Her competitive streak started when she was young with the desire to stand out from her siblings. During her school days, she always studied and absorbed knowledge pretty easily. Compared to others around her age, she actually enjoyed studying, earning her spot to be a favorite amongst teachers because she also behaved in front of them to earn more praise.
◆ She later started to grow bored of being the teacher's pet all the time, so she resorted to bullying her siblings whenever they failed at something. It's her version of tough love so that they don't screw up in the future. It was like releasing her stress at the same time, so she thought that was okay.
◆ With her grades in good standing, she persuaded her parents to get her a violin. She wanted to stand out even more, so she ended up choosing an instrument out of whim, but she ended up enjoying it in the end. She took private lessons and started to become greedy with that too and she put in so much effort into becoming well known as a violinist. She auditioned for temporary local orchestras and got in. This was all while she was in high school.
◆ She eventually packed up her bags and started living in the dorms in a local university, where she majored in economics and business. Manon also made many connections while she was there to expand her network. University life was enjoyable for her. She never had to worry about finances because she earned so many scholarships to the point that the leftovers turned into free money. She also earned money on the side from part time jobs and rather underhanded methods hidden from the law and such. It was at this point when her family felt a bit distant from her even though she did miss them every now and then. She made it to Concertmaster status in an orchestra that she got into that was near her university.
◆ After she graduated, she moved to Recolle for job opportunities, but she got hideously sidetracked and started working as a hostess in a bar instead because the glamorous life was attractive. She goes by a different name while working so that it's easier to separate her work persona from her life outside of it. It's fun for her.
◆ She also wanted to make some quick money, so she bought the land that the current Catmosphere Cafe is on (permission granted by Akira-mun). The cafe was built on loans from Manon, so when she's not acting as a terrifying loan shark to the owner of the cafe, she's a quirky landlord that demands free stuff from the establishment. rip cat cafe
◆ All that underhanded moneymaking is a side thing for her and she cranks up the interest rates to everyone that borrows money from her. That $5 you borrowed from her to get food? You owe her $10 the next day. She's very strict about it too, and threatens to increase interest if they get smart with her.
◆ She lives in a nice house all by herself, where she spends her free time watching youtube videos to learn recipes and such, traveling from wiki page to wiki page, and more. She also frequently visits the public library to check out books.

Permissions received from the people below to be involved with Manon!

◆ Terra ([personal profile] lingeringwill): Coworker at Club Sunshine and sees him in the library often. They run into each other a lot.
◆ Goro Majima ([personal profile] sotenbori): Her boss at work.
◆ Junpei Tenmyouji ([personal profile] grumpei): Her trivia buddy or rival depending on what teams they are in during trivia contests in bars. She's on good terms with him (on her side anyway).
◆ Akira Kurusu ([personal profile] maskreant): A worker that she sees at the Cat Cafe often. Thinks he's a good worker by what she's seen of him.
◆ Theodore Leonhardt ([personal profile] lienhearts): She met him in the streets once and thought he looked familiar. What she doesn't know is that she's seen his movies, but his cover is pretty good. She usually banters with him every now and then.
◆ Iris Vasiliev ([personal profile] direr): Her favorite drinking buddy! She's very friendly with her, even offering a discount on drinks whenever they go drinking.

AU PERSONALITY:
◆ There are big changes from her canon into this AU, which fundamentally changes a lot of things about Manon, but as for her general personality, she mostly remains the same.
◆ She is no longer tied to her mistress, so she takes pride in herself as her own person and strives to be independent without anyone chaining her down. She even moved to Recolle right away to show for it.
◆ Manon is also no longer a tool for murder, so she doesn't really see the acting of killing as lightly as her canon counterpart. Sure, she can offhandedly say things like "do you want to die" when she gets mad, but on a serious act of killing... she doesn't look fondly of it at all.
◆ As she's no longer a magical creature that lives solely on other people believing that she's real, she no longer has any need to do that because she's human. She isn't adamant about existing, because she already knows that she exists as an indisputable fact. (lol)
◆ She also doesn't have her sisters around all the time. Despite being born into a family of many siblings, she feels a little distant from her family because she spent a lot of time away from them since university. Since she's always caught up in doing other things that keep her busy, her family is lower in priorities to keep up with. Despite everything, she does feel lonely sometimes when she actually starts thinking about it, so she hangs out with acquaintances and friends whenever she has matching schedules with them.
◆ Definitely a go-getter person. While the basis of this personality factor hasn't changed from canon, it's a lot more extreme here, because as a human, she has more incentive to learn about everything and anything as compared to when she's a magical being due to schooling and such.
◆ Still teases people because she thinks it's a fun pasttime. However, she doesn't go as far as her canon self and knows when to stop if necessary.
